DON’T think of aspirin purely in terms of holiday hangovers, they work as a water baby’s secret weapon against shine stripping chlorine. After your dip dissolve one in a glass of tap water, pour over the hair and leave for 2 minutes. Rinse and follow with conditioner.

IF you’re going to get a lot of sun exposure, protect the ends of your hair as these tend to be the weak spot that gets bleached a lighter colour. Tie hair back loosely at the nape of the neck and create a loop of hair through your elastic so the ends are tucked under.

IF you’re a bottle blonde avoid a chlorine induced green tinge by first saturating your hair under the shower or with a bottle of mineral water. The wetter it is, the less chlorine absorption will occur.

NEVER pull sopping wet hair into a tight ponytail as it’s significantly weaker in this state than when it’s dry and will stretch almost to breaking point, especially if fine or coloured. you should only ever use snag free elastics.

USE conditioning treatments regularly to boost moisture levels and prevent hair becoming frazzled. Really concentrate on those ends.
